Aloe Blacc - Good Things

Aloe Blacc , born Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins III, is one of the talents of the most interesting scene soul / r & b contemporary.

Singer, rapper and musician, born in 1979 in Los Angeles, parents of Panamanian origin. A graduate of the University of Southern California, took his first steps in the music biz in the mid-90s as MC in the rap group Emanon , which will record several albums in the years to follow.
The debut solo
is dated 2003 with The Aloe Blacc EP , but in 2006 with the album Shine Through Aloe that engages with his first album for the long haul. The 2010 is the year of consecration: it comes out in September Good Things, released on disc Stones Throw Records, a label always attentive to quality products.

Aloe Blacc's music contains elements that cut across different genres of black music, from jazz to hip hop but they are mostly steeped in R & B and Soul.

I Need a Dollar

How to Make in America . The other pieces of Good Things range from funky to sweet Hey Brothers Miss Fortune, a successful blend of r & b and reggae sounds. The soul in its purest essence, we capture while listening to songs like Loving You Is Killing Me and You Make Me Smile , while Femme Fatale , Aloe tried, with success in the classic Velvet Underground . Worth a mention too introspective Mama Hold My Hand , autobiographical song hued gospel.

An excellent second album for the Los Angeles artist who is a candidate with this job as one of the best albums of 2010.

Lost Drivers License In Mobile, Al

Raul Midon - Synthesis

It was released in April Decca label in 2010 Synthesis, the new album by Raul Midón, American guitarist and singer of Mexican descent. Blind from birth, for having spent time in an incubator without adequate eye protection, Raul has a talent like few others. His rhythm blues / Latin are a delight to the ear. Item to be perfect Soulman, was very much influenced by past greats like Donny Hathaway, to whom he dedicated a song in State of Mind, one of his previous album.

The album was produced by Larry Klein , also bassist in the disk. The very title of the album makes us understand what the mission of Raul. To summarize all his musical background, consisting of soul, jazz, Latin music and neo-soul, in a single album. And it does so in a masterly way, recording the entire album through a voice-controlled software that allowed him to perfect all his work. An album that flows nicely from start to finish for this artist who arrived at his 5th album, the third for a major, surprising more and more.

Synthesis is an album that when you are done you will be sorry to hear it because it lasts only 40 minutes. You can always start over! The disc begins with Do not Be a Silly Man, from the sounds of blues, which recounts the amazement and sense of devotion in a meeting with one of his musical idols. «…We talked about our virtues and our crimes, we talked about the nature of these tenuous times and how our constant search for immortality will always be denied…». Dettaglio tecnico: è registrata in 7/8 ... Chi fa musica sa cosa significa!

The Making of "Synthesis"

tracklist
1. Don't Be a Silly Man
2. Bonnie's Song
3. These Wheels
4. Next Generation
5. Everyone Deserves a Second Chance
6. Don't Take It That Way
7. When You Call My Name
8. Invisible Chains
9. About You
10. Blackbird
11. Why Am I Feeling So Bad
12. Moment to Moment (bonus track)

significant pieces, such as Next Generation, which speaks of "Twitter Generation" as a generation that can do everything, for the media that has no limits compared to the previous generation. Song accompanied by a dry but nice beat. An invitation to young people not to waste their youth for petty things, but to give our best to have a better future. In mid-album we are catapulted into South America, Latin rhythms of the bossa nova exciting Everyone Deserves a Second Chance .

When I said "synthesis" of different kinds mean really different. It also passes by the rhythms of reggae as Invisible Chains , alle contagiose sonorità pop di Don't Take It That Way .

Fino a chiudersi a ritmo blues acustico con Why Am I Feeling So Bad?

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Globe Table Centerpieces

Esperanza Spalding Live @ Rome, 14 November

Esperanza brings touring his new album Chamber Music Society, a modern interpretation of chamber music. The training consists of a string quartet composed of the same experiment on double bass and three other musicians on viola, violin and cello, a drummer, the vocalist Leal Cyr (wife of guitarist Ricardo Vogt) and his faithful pianist Leonardo Genovese.

Firstly it is worth to say a few words about the structure of fiction and avverinistica Parco della Musica.

Piece of unique intensity during which I can not hold back the tears bursting into a silent cry that will not disturb other spectators close to me. I will continue to cry for the three subsequent tracks. The second track Knowledge of Good and Evil that the disc might perhaps seem long and verbose, live shines a new light. Esperanza has all the songs from his new album played without interruption from beginning to end without speaking to present the songs, creating an atmosphere that was definitely the mystic.

To note a wonderful version of Chacarera extended and made much stronger when the live shows even better bass have another talent, one of the dance. A beautiful surprise was Apple Blossom, an orphan in this guitar brasileira Ricardo Vogt and the special guest of Milton Nascimento, but no less exciting version of the album, far from it! Esperanza for most of the time he sings and plays with his eyes closed and smiles often, giving you the impression of being the first to become excited for what he does. And in doing so moves the audience, especially me. Very nice

also Inutil Pasaigem with vocal harmonies and Esperanza Leal. The concert will close with my two favorite tracks of the disk that is Winter Sun and What a Friend even these certainly enhanced by the arrangement dal vivo.
